| | I thought firestone has free installation when you purchase their tires | | Today, I brought my car to the firestone to have them replace my flat tire. The tire itself cost around $79.00. And I thought the installation fee is free of charge. But the cashier guy still charged me $10. Make it like $100. I asked him why, he then give me all these promotion was over kind of Bull.
Do you have to pay for the labor when you purchased tires from firestone? If you don't have to, I might call their manager and ask why. | |

| A visit to Firestone cost me $300 | | I had two flat tires on my both rear tires. I believe that they were picked the nails from the street. I drove my car to the Firestone and have it to patch up. I waited an hour, the personnel brought me to the shop, and show me how bad my tires were treaded. There bald around and flat on both my rear tires, and one on th front. He suggested me to replace three of them. Moreover, my filter and the brake fluid needed to be handled too. All together cost me around $300. I was sweating, and I also need to get them done today. Total amount is around $311.00. What a big expenses on my car today. I knew that every time I came to Firestone, they always bring up all the problems I have with my car. And I gotta spend a whole lot of money in it. Where would you go to fix your car normally and lower your cost? | |
| | Firestone christmas albums | | Julie Andrews did one of these Christmas albums...I have it on vinyl...it's too bad I can't find it on CD. I saw the Firestone sign in NY recently and it made me remember the albums which were made (strangely enough) by this tire company! Anyway, I hope they put all of these on CD someday...maybe Time Life will do something. | |

| Firestone Christmas Album | | One of my friends is trying to find an album that her mother played every Christmas. She says that it was during the sixties. The only words that she remembers on the album is Firestone. She said that there were about eight people(men and women) on the cover. She says something about a snap shop picture. I helped her search for hours last night. We found some albums with red bows on the front by firestone, but she said that these are not it.They also mentioned Julie Andrews as a singer, but my friend says that Julie Andrews was no where on the album. I realize that this is a stab in the dark and most people will not know what in the world I am speaking of, but she really wants to hear this album again real bad, so I am trying to help her locate it. | | show some respect to the customers | | Today, I brought my car to the firestone for fixing my flat tire. While one of the technician brought me to the work shop, show me the status of the tires; I overheard another technician was gossiping about another customer out there in the waiting lounge. He wasn't commenting nicely about that customer. Because that customer showing some attitude toward him, complaining about waiting too long for his car to be done.
From my personal opinion, he shouldn't gossip behind the customer back while at work, because they are still at work, and they should respect the customers. Nonetheless, those customers are the "meal ticket" to their bread on the table. Don't you agree? | |

| Why Are So Many Auto Repair Shops Dishonest? | | Last week I took my care to a reputable auto repair shop because my "check engine" light came on. It also seemed like I was loosing gas milage.
So they charged me $79.99 for a "computerized engine analysis."Here is what they said was wrong with auto.
They said the system was running lean, meaning that extra gas was being pumped into my fuel ejectors.
Here is what they said I needed.
They said they would have to remove & replace upper and lower intake manifold gaskets.
The parts would cost $139.00 and the labor would cost $281.60. I would have to leave my auto at the shop and the job would take around 4 hours.
I told them that I didn't want to spend that kind of money at this time, plus I couldn't stick around for another 4 hours.
So I got in my auto and started to drive home. I noticed that the "check engine light" was no longer on and the car was running much better.
It looks like what ever they hooked the computer engine analysis tool up to, was just loose, allowing air into the injectors causing the engine to run lean.
After they took the engine analysis tool off and reconnected everything properly, the problem was solved.

| | Nascar Race Today......What did you think of Tony Stewart comments...?? | | Did anyone watch the race today, Nascar of course. Well did you hear Tony Stewarts remark about Goodyear Tires, how hard the tires were and that they wouldn't grip, that they weren't worth a crap. Oh yeah! He said he thought Firestone would do a better job handling the tires. He came in second today by the way. So what did you think?
