See what others are saying about Michelin| Woman chef wins three Michelin stars | | France's Michelin guide gave its coveted three star award to a restaurant run by a woman chef on Wednesday, but other top eateries lost out in the annual ritual that can bring glory or despair to the culinary elite. Anne-Sophie Pic, a partly self-taught cook whose father and grandfather both held the rare three star rating, was awarded the distinction for her Pic restaurant in Valence, southeastern France, in the 2007 guide due out next Wednesday. "If I can encourage people and show them that you can accomplish a lot of things then I'll do it," Pic told French television. "Everything is possible as long as you are willing to take your passions as far as they'll go," she added.
The restaurant lost a star three years after her father's death, and Pic made it her mission to win it back. She dedicated the award to her father. "Me having this star is my final homage to him," she said. "It was a real challenge and at the same time truly motivating."
| | Whats On Your Car? | | I have a set of Yokohama tires on my car. they are descent but my car does not go long distances at one time. If I drove It long distances I would put a better quality tire on it. what tires do you have on your car? she said. "It was a real challenge and at the same time truly motivating." | |
| | Searching for best possible 205/15/55 | | I registered my car yesterday again for 1 year (here in Slovenia you have to register a car every year, which means 800 € for me;((( )So now i want to change tires before I start to drive again.
ANd I figured out that here is very difficult to get tires 205/15/55. Do any of you know any good tire deals close to Slovenia (Italy, Austria, Hungary, Croatia)?
How big tires and which brand do you use on your car? (i used michelin until now) she said. "It was a real challenge and at the same time truly motivating."
| | | bridgestone vs michelins in motogp | | What do you believe? Whether bridgestone win the motogp championship next year or not? If yes which team will win it for them? I think yes and Ducati. | |
| | | | American Sports: rubbish the lot of them! | | I speak as a Brit. Here's the substance to my claim:Baseball - A glove to catch the ball? It's not hard- (see cricket). The keeper can have gloves if he wants to, but the rest of you, man-up!Indycar racing/Nascar - A bit like F1, but you only ever turn left.American football - padding the michelin man would be jealous of, and breaks every 7 seconds to catch your breath.[Ice] Hockey - Seemingly too dull for American audiences. The obvious solution: add padding (duh!) and put it on ice. Actually, fair enough. But just a note that what you call 'field hockey' is actually a brilliant sport played by men too.Recurring themes: padding, stoppages, excessive statistics, padding, padding. she said. "It was a real challenge and at the same time truly motivating." | |
| | F1 VS Moto GP | | Formula 1 seems to be the best... cars, power, moneys... it use to be some show once. Now that's away... but moto GP is one of my new discoveries:P... I mean is better, there is a lot of show, and Valentino Rossi is not in such a good form. That's way better than F1:)... and beside that, along with the tyre manufacture Brigestone there is also Michelin...
that means a lot of advantages for moto gp:P... of course is a lot different from F1, as a sport, but the show is amazing...
What do you think? feel free to share with me, cos I'm new to Motor GP...
| | should battery farming have a place in a light-hearted science program? | | I'm probably totally in the wrong place here, but something I saw on TV tonight made me feel sick. It was on the program 'how do they do that?' (I think) on Discovery science. I tune in to this prog as it's normally light-hearted banter showing how day-to-day things are made, like electric guitars or auto air filters. But tonight I switched on, to see film of thousands of baby chicks being 'sorted' for the cages they were going to end their lives in. IT WAS SICK. I'm not a 'boo-hoo' animal lover, I HAVE to buy cheap chicken for my family as I can't afford free-range, and I know these animals don't lead happy lives, but I didn't realise just how inhumane it was.Problem is, this program seemed to be trading on these birds' suffering to fill in the gaps on their schedule - I guess because they're running out of things to film. A few days ago, they covered eggs in the same way. Both times there was a final disclaimer about 'If you don't like what you've just seen, buy free-range or go vegetarian,' but the feeling I got was that this definitely was NOT an exercise in alleviating animal suffering by showing the truth behind intensive farming. The 'yee ha!' attitude of the... | |
