| Getting stuck in the snow | | I just got back in the door from a little family adventure. My husband needed a ride up to our church as he is going to a dinner with the men's group tonight. My son was also going to a friend's house to spend some time. We have a LOT of snow here. It has been snowing pretty consistently all day long and has kept us from travelling a long distance to my Grandma's birthday open house. But in town here, the roads are snow covered but passable. We were running late so I didn't even put on my boots (only a pair of flats) and I brought no gloves. When we got to the church, the parking lot was not plowed. There was a slight path where a few cars had already gone through. But if you've ever driven in snow on a bright day, you know that it can be very hard to distinguish a path when all you can see is white. Well....... I got the car stuck. Fortunately lots of other guys were already there and they tried pushing, pulling and snowblowing until at last one late arrival showed up with a 4 wheel drive truck and a tow rope! Whew! Never underestimate the trouble you can get into in your car even a few blocks away! I think I'll bring my boots with me where ever I go for the rest of the winter. | |
| | Anyone been up to Mt. Lemmon lately? | | I worked at the Mt. Lemmon ski area many years ago. We were quite a motley crew, but great folks and great fun. Has anyone been up there lately? Is fire damage still very evident? One of my favorite places of all time!! I loved the trip up and down (2 completely different experiences) and loved having to stop halfway to take off the tire chains. I'd sure like to know how things are up there now.hey tried pushing, pulling and snowblowing until at last one late arrival showed up with a 4 wheel drive truck and a tow rope! Whew!
