See what others are saying about UTV | | UTV and Ken agree on pushing Kaminey ahead of Shahid-Genelia starrer | | UTV Motion Pictures and Ken Ghosh held on to releasing the first look and title of their Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza starrer at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2009. Reason? They mutually agreed that it would make more sense to showcase Kaminey, which is Shahid's next release, over the yet untitled venture starring the same actor.Ken says, "I was contemplating releasing the first look of the film along with the title. We were even thinking of kick starting some mini promotion at IIFA for our film. However, it was agreed upon that promotion of Kaminey should hold centre stage. So we are keeping low for the Shahid and Genelia starrer. In any case the movie is some distance away from release." Point to be noted is that both Kaminey as well as Ken Ghosh's films are UTV productions. Since both films feature Shahid Kapoor as the leading man, it would have been an in-house competition had focus shifted even slightly on the latter film. "That's true", agrees Ken, "At the end of the day everyone out here is a mature individual and there was no reason why anyone would have stepped over another's product. Let Kaminey release and after that, we also have...
| | Do you consider a horse a vehicle? | | It appears that someone has decided that horses are subject to the same rules as cars, trucks, UTV's, ATV's, etc... Well, i don't see the resemblance. Especially when it comes to forest access and traffic. How are horses and trucks supposed to get along on single lane roads? Are you kidding me? A horse is not going to ruin the terrain by crossing over it. Trees wont get run down and such? Why would horses not be allowed to go where they go? I understand all about hunting seasons. But those are certain times of the year. Not ALL year. The reason i bring this up is because in my local area, we will have to access the forest with trailers and stay on the main trails with the off roaders. Many of us bought on the edge of the forest is because we can go right out of our back yards. Now they want to take that away. Why? Create more fuel consumption? Take away the civil liberties of man? Park fees? What do you think? | |
| | Emotional Atayachaar (Torture) - Would you spy on your Partner? | | The subject does sound vague isn't it. Actually this is a TV programme on UTV Bindass which spies on your partner after taking the approval from you to check if your partner is cheating on you and this is on National Television. In this program there are people who are in serious relationships or married or in a live in relationship and want to test if their partner is Loyal to them so they approach this TV program and they setup the show in which they spy on the partner and make them meet up with their setup Anchors who approach the "Suspect" (in this case the person who is being spied on) on behalf of the Victim (the person who has given the permission to spy on their partner). There are many people who do cheat on their partners when they get a chance and this is shown live and the reactions of the victims. I would like to know would you cheat on your partner just for some fun even though you are actually in love with your partner? If you are loyal and do not cheat even when it is setup and you come to know about it would you ever trust your Partner? Would you feel that it is the Partner's love for you that made them spy on you? Or would you take it as a practical... | |
| | Dimensions | | I do not go watching all the movies generally. Say for example Charlie's Angels or Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani.. My preferences revolve around the direction, the script, the choreography th e lyrics, the plot and the sub-plot and of course the teamwork. Of late I have tried to find a thread of links that are being shown on Star, Pix, Zee Studio and World UTV. What has attracted me is a film called A short film on Love..that's a Polish movie which has been dubbed into the Hindi version also. What te film offered is a different dimension to the love aspect. The kid is hardly in his ate teens and is already attracted to a woman of 35. When she offers him to feel free with her, he slits his wrist. This turns the whole concept of love in the woman who does not entertain guess anymore. The symbolism lies in the telescope, the binocular, the milk bottle all gathering momentum to depict the intensity of the film.
The world UTV has given its viewers a glimpse to read the mind of the director in various countries and this is particularly attracting. I have watched 'Kate and Leopold', 'An Autumn in New York', 'Devil wears Prada', 'Notting Hill', 'Something like Heaven', 'Sweet Home Alabama'...
| | You would have laughed at me so hard! | | I took my 12 year old grand-daughter and 9 year old grandson to town today and of course they both got to buy something. My grandson got an airplane that you pump up with an air pump. Well, we get home and he gets it all pumped up and it is so neat! I told him to pump it up again and open the sliding glass door and let it loose outside. Well, of course, he listened to me. He let it go and oops! up on the roof it went! He went outside and came back in and said, "Oh NO, MeeMee! It went on the top of the house." I said oh it couldn't have I saw it go to the left. Well, it did go to the left but took a turn and landed on top of the house. I went out side with him and we surveyed the situation and I stand there and think. I finally said well, let's hope for a hard wind. Well, that really didn't satisfy him at all. I thought some more and decided to back our UTV Ranger up to the house where it was. My grandson drove the golf cart way out so he could see where it was and guide me to where I needed to back the Ranger's dumpbed so it would be even with the airplane. Then..........I get out fo the Ranger and now I cannot figure out how this 54 year old woman can get into the dump bed. LOL... | |
| | Now, Sivaji to woo Hindi audience | | If you're one of those movie buffs who went to watch the phenomenal Rajni in full form in Sivaji despite not understanding a single dialogue, its time to rejoice. For the Boss is back and he's speaking your language. The process of dubbing for the Hindi version of Sivaji has begun. Confirms S C Babu, CEO, AVM Productions, the studio that hold the rights of the film's negative, "Yes, Rajni will dub for himself. | | The "REMAKE" Obsession. HOLLYWOOD inspired by BOLLYWOOD!! | | With Farhan Akhtar's highly publicised remake of the hugely successful DON finally hitting theatres, it seems there will be a deluge of remakes in Bollywood in the near future.More and more directors are toying with the idea of doing remakes of old classics and cult movies. The remakes in queue are - Ramgopal Varma's SHOLAY, Rituparno Ghosh's RAAHGEER, a remake of Dev Anand-starrer GUIDE, Feroz Khan's QURBANI, Raj Sippy's SATTE PE SATTA and Sudhir Mishra is set to do a remake of his own thriller IS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHIN in English.Bollywood's track record of remaking old classics has been rather promising. Bimal Roy's take on Pramatesh Barua's DEVDAS was a huge hit and established Dilip Kumar as "Tragedy King"; Sanjay Leela Bhansali's take on Roy's DEVDAS - a visual extravaganza released in 2002 - is considered to be one of the greatest films. But it was with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's PARINEETA - a remake of an old classic of the same name - that the trend of doing remakes became a rage. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the love story was received well by the younger generation and went on to become the biggest hit of the year. From the treatment of the subject to the... | |
